Our development teams are led by individuals who excel in effective communication skills, an ability to motivate others, and an ability to identify and quickly adapt to changing conditions. With years of detailed design experience, our Project Managers can intelligently conduct trade-off analyses and ensure an optimal path for success. At Plexus the buck stops with the Project Manager - the single point of accountability for achieving technical, schedule, and budget project goals. We view our Project Management expertise as a key core competence that significantly differentiates our service offering.
During conceptualization and throughout realization efforts, the Project Manager works with the technical team to balance technological risks, voice of the customer and business requirements
by creating and maintaining a comprehensive project plan. Included in the project plan (as reflected in a comprehensive proposal custom tailored to the specific scope of work) are all
of the key attributes required to ensure project success including: the technical approach, a detailed schedule, a list of deliverables, required resources, development costs, perceived risks
and mitigation plans, and key assumptions. Using the project plan as a discussion vehicle, the Project Manager can then interact with the customer to discuss "what if" scenarios relative to
product features, project schedule, and end unit cost goals.
As development continues, the Project Manager also takes the end responsibility for ensuring a quality, robust design by ensuring compliance with our underlying quality system. To support clear, consistent, and timely communication, Plexus Project Managers utilize a variety of mechanisms including direct, one-on-one conversations, conference calls, e-mail, secured websites, web-based collaboration tools, on-line Open Issues Lists (OIL), and on-site meetings. Our overriding goal is the success of your program and we will proactively communicate with you every step of the way. As the final design begins its transition to manufacturing, the Project Manager continues to play a critical role in facilitating the transition process and working with a variety of supporting stakeholders including: the customer's operations, supply chain, and quality teams; Plexus' Manufacturing Transition Team; and the targeted manufacturing site's operations team. The Project Manager remains the vital link between development and manufacturing until the customer and the receiving manufacturing site's team are in agreement that end goals have been met. |
