At Plexus, our commitment to sustainability centers around our value of innovating responsibly as we boldly drive positive change and promote a sustainable future for and through our people, our solutions and our operations, all of which is built on a foundation of trust and transparency.

Our People

People are the heart of who we are and what we do. We are deeply committed to growing our people, building belonging and strengthening our communities.

This includes valuing and protecting human rights, enriching our team members’ experience, fostering an equitable, inclusive culture and giving back through our volunteer time off and charitable giving programs.

Our Solutions

We create customer success with innovative solutions to design, manufacture and service products to be more sustainable and responsibly produced.

This includes how we design products to reduce their environmental impact, how we optimize production and how we extend a product’s useful life through sustaining services.

Our Operations

To deliver excellence, we must continuously improve how we operate to optimize natural resource usage and reduce our environmental impact.

This includes a central focus on key environmental impact areas like energy, emissions, waste and water.

Our efforts to innovate responsibly are build on a foundation of trust and transparency, as we hold ourselves and our business partners to high ethical standards of professional conduct, upheld through a culture of accountability.

OUR goals

Our Sustainability Goals

We believe in the power of people and innovation coming together to create a better, more sustainable world.

Our Impact: 2024 Highlights

  • Pay Equity: We successfully piloted a new pay equity tool in the U.S. This trial laid the groundwork for a global rollout in 2025.
  • Volunteerism: Our employees gave back to their communities, achieving 21,877 volunteer hours, surpassing our 2023 total
    of 19,763 hours.
  • Social Impact: We formalized a new social impact strategy, creating a global role focused on community engagement and employee resource groups (ERGs) to better support our teams worldwide.
  • Charitable Giving: We allocated $1.07 million to various charitable causes, exceeding our goal of $1 million.

In 2025, we set out to achieve the following goals:

  • Global Pay Equity: Deploy our new pay equity tool to all global markets.
  • Volunteerism: Exceed our 2024 total of 21,877 volunteer hours.
  • Organizational Growth: Successfully implement the new organizational structure and social impact strategy.
  • Charitable Giving: Allocate over $1.1 million to charitable causes.

In 2024, we set a goal to assess our top 100 suppliers by spend on sustainability criteria, and surpassed the goal by assessing over 150 suppliers, representing 56% of our overall supply chain spend.

In 2025, our goal is to assess an additional 100 suppliers on sustainability criteria.

Our Impact: 2024 Highlights

  • Emissions Intensity: We surpassed our goal of a 5% reduction over our 2023 baseline, achieving a 6.4% absolute emissions reduction.
  • Waste to Landfill Intensity: We surpassed our goal of a 5% reduction over our 2023 baseline, achieving a 13.7% waste to landfill intensity reduction.
  • Water Withdrawal: In 2023, we established a water withdrawal baseline to support the establishment of a future reduction goal. 
  • Greenhouse Gas Management: An inventory management plan aligned to GHG protocol was completed and material categories of Scope 3 emissions were baselined per the protocol. 

In 2025, we set out to achieve the following goals:

  • Emissions: Absolute emissions equal to or less than fiscal 2023 absolute emissions performance
  • Waste to Landfill: Achieve a 5.0% waste to landfill intensity reduction over fiscal 2024
  • Water Withdrawal: Achieve a 5.0% water withdrawal intensity reduction over fiscal 2024 baseline
  • Site Impact Assessments: Complete individual site sustainability impact assessments to support longer-term ambition planning

Our Impact: 2024 Highlights

  • Double Materiality Assessment:  In 2024, we completed double materiality assessments at the largest site in each of our three operating regions (AMER, APAC and EMEA) to converge on areas of financial impact and material impact to our business, people and the planet. 
  • Operational System Integration:  As part of the Plexus System of Operational Excellence, we integrated  key environmental and social performance indicators into the process, with sites completing the first round of assessments with positive feedback and environmental opportunities shared across facilities.

In 2025, we intend to complete stakeholder interviews and perform calibration activities on the results gathered from the Double Materiality Assessment
